Position Overview: 
As a Medical Coding Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance in medical coding practices. This position involves auditing, team training, and the implementation of quality management systems. You will collaborate with iTCart’s leadership to ensure project success while adhering to HIPAA and industry regulations. 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Quality Assurance and Auditing 

• Perform regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with client-specific medical coding guidelines. 

• Develop and implement corrective action plans for quality improvement. 

2. Interviews and Team Training 

• Conduct interviews to identify qualified candidates for the medical coding team. 

• Train new and existing team members on coding practices, updates, and quality standards. 

3. Feedback and Development 

• Provide constructive feedback to coders to enhance their accuracy and efficiency. 

• Monitor performance and guide coders to meet project requirements. 

4. Quality Management System (QMS) 

• Set up and maintain a QMS tailored to the Medical Coding Project. 

• Document processes, workflows, and SOPs to align with compliance standards. 

5. Reporting and Documentation 

• Submit periodic reports on audit results, team performance, and overall project progress. 

• Ensure all records are maintained as per HIPAA and project-specific regulations. 

6. Key Stakeholder Collaboration 

• Coordinate with iTCart leadership to ensure alignment on project deliverables. 

• Communicate audit findings and recommendations to stakeholders for actionable insights. 

7. Regulatory Compliance 

• Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and other relevant compliance standards. 

• Monitor industry updates and adapt processes to meet regulatory changes. 

8. Continuous Improvement 

• Identify areas of improvement and implement innovative solutions for process optimization. 

• Stay updated on industry trends to enhance coding accuracy and efficiency. 

  Responsibilities of iTCart: 

1. Provide access to necessary project resources and tools. 

2. Share project guidelines, timelines, and deliverables with the Contractor. 

3. Ensure timely payment as per the agreed terms. 

 Responsibilities of the Contractor: 

1. Adhere to iTCart’s project guidelines, timelines, and quality standards. 

2. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other applicable regulations. 

3. Deliver the agreed services as per the defined scope. 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): 

1. Audit Accuracy: 98% or higher coding accuracy in audits. 

2. Training Effectiveness: Successful completion of training sessions with improved team performance. 

3. Timeliness: Submission of reports and completion of tasks within the agreed timelines. 

4. Compliance: 100% adherence to HIPAA and project-specific regulations.
